FINCA SON BERGA
Son Berga is a natural stone house that lies tucked snugly among the hills between Manacor, the second largest town on the island, and the sleepy village of Son Carrió. The house has been carefully restored, intentionally keeping some of the old features typical to the old Majorcan farm houses. It has three double bedrooms and two bathrooms meaning that up to six guests can stay here comfortably.
The grounds are entered via a wrought iron gateway and are completely fenced in. Inside the grounds you will find many old trees, luxuriant plants and a small pond. Terraces surround the house; there is a generous swimming pool with a sun terrace and wonderful views are to be had, off an inviting picture.
Going into the house itself you find yourself in a small entrance area to the right of which the first bedroom is to be found. To the left is the second bedroom with en suite bathroom containing a shower, washbasin, bidet and toilet. Straight ahead you enter the comfortable living/dining area with a high, wooden beamed ceiling and a wood burning stove for the cooler evenings. Here there is a sitting area and a dining table. From here you step onto a large terrace with an open air kitchen and a typical, old stone oven where fresh bread would have been baked weekly. Exceptional is also the authentic kitchen that leads off the eating area. Here a number of original features have been left and restored such so that they fit in with the modern elements of oven, refrigerator and deep freeze, dishwasher and microwave.
At the back of the house there is a third bedroom, a small study with a desk, a dressing room and a further bathroom with a bath, washbasin, bidet and toilet. From here there is also access to a terrace. The furniture outside is exceptionally attractive and there is also a table tennis table. It goes without saying that house also has all mod cons such as free Internet, satellite TV and a laundry room with a washing machine. There is also central heating making a stay in the house during the cooler months equally as comfortable. It should be mentioned also that the finca is laid out on one level and has almost no barriers.
In its peaceful location away from the busy tourist areas Son Berga offers the possibility of either relaxing completely or being active, or both! The stunning surrounding countryside invites walking and the Mediterranean is very near. The tourist centres of Cala Millor and Sa Coma are 10 minutes drive away. Golf lovers will find all they need in the near vicinity as there are four golf courses nearby: Canyamel, Golf Capdapera, Pula Golf and Son Servera. The towns of Artà and Capdapera both have medieval fortifications to visit. In Son Carrió it is possible to buy daily necessities and the baker nearest the church is renowned for its ensaimadas (a typical Majorcan pastry). Larger supermarkets can be found in Porto Cristo or Manacor. In the little town of Sant LLorenc des Cardassar there are a number of restaurants catering for all tastes and in Sa Coma there is even a Michelin starred restaurant.
